Gadget, or Gah-jeet as they are also known, consist of Hadley Jones who dabbles on keyboards when she wants to, Phil Lebovits plays backward guitar, Matt Norton drinks it up on bass and Ian Bernard taunts his drums into saying things they shouldn't say.

Everybodys sings as is necessary.

Gadget as a band exists only the minds of fans now, but as a concept, Gadget lives on. Of the nearly three dozen songs that the band churned out during its live gig faze, only 7 have ever been recorded.

The band's final recordings, these were destined to take them to the top of the charts, with a bullet.

Gadget's sound has often been discussed, most often by the band members themselves. In these discussions names like Talking Heads, B-52s and Cake are used. But there are so many other infulences, like musical theater and theatre, The Groundlings, just about every Sit-Com on TV, soup, chocolate, beer, lots of beer and fun, above all, fun. If it wasn't fun, Gadget didn't do it.

The band has tackled some edgy subjects in their songs, like palm readers, the Chinese art

of Feng Shui, the mentally handi-capped and getting laid at a wedding. The sense of humour is always present. And because none of the band members are really pursuing a career in music per se, well it makes it that much more fun.

But the fun ended for Gadget like it did for so many of us on September 11, 2001, or the day after at their last official gig. Since that night Gadget has not raised their instruments.

Altho the live stage show of Gadget was short lived, only about 3 years from start to finish, it generated some of the most amazing promotional material.

Many fans have asked for the members to get back together, but until Matt comes out of rehab there will be no Gadget reunion. Like any rock band worth its weight in coke, Matt, the bass player, has been in rehab for almost two years now, but the other members have high hopes of making one more go of it before they start dying.

Even tho Gadget was known for its wig-wearing on stage, the band is also remembered for its flawless song craftmanship and a healthy dose of tongue in cheek.
